This painting is a collaboration with my partner, Shoshanah Dubiner, an artist who lived several years in Italy. In this collaboration, each of us took many turns, engaging with but never blotting out what the other had done. We would play against, decorate, modify, or reframe what was already on the paper, or introduce new motifs.
